Part of West Midlands Creativity Week
On Monday Richard Parker, Mayor of the West Midlands, announced that Create Central is partnering with Royal Television Society Midlands to lead the way as the first region to introduce a dedicated ‘Sustainability Award’, launching in 2025, driving forward our mission to make the West Midlands the home of UK sustainable content creation in 2030.
Mark Hughes-Webb, Create Central Member and Founder and CEO of The SPACE-2 Group, said, “It’s fantastic that sustainability is being recognised as an integral part of the future of storytelling in the region and with Create Central embracing this by making it a core mission, this award will help celebrate and more widely promote it. Whether its in the form of script writing or visual content in front of the camera or innovations in production processes or industry supply chain, the RTS Sustainability Award will ensure that sustainability is the evolving story of the West Midlands.”
Kully Khaila, Chair, Royal Television Society Midlands, said "The Royal Television Society is delighted to partner with Create Central to celebrate sustainable production in 2025 and beyond. Innovation is part of the Midlands DNA, so helping to change harmful practices and forge the future of production is something we look forward to highlighting with this new award."
This year’s RTS Midlands Awards event is on Friday 29 November 2024
