Shape the Future: CreaTech, games, sustainability and innovation leaders invited to join Create Central’s Executive Board
6 February 2024
Create Central, the industry-led network championing the West Midlands' creative content sector, is actively seeking dynamic Executive Board Members to propel our five Shape the Future missions forward. As a key player in shaping the future of the region's creative industries, we invite applications from experts in digital media, games, createch, immersive and sustainability, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
Create Central’s focus since start-up has been on the film and TV production sector, and our membership has reflected that focus. As we move forward with our five Shape the Future missions we are looking for expertise outside the film and TV sectors.
Our five missions are:
IP Content Fund: Future funding to foster West Midlands' ideas.
Monetising Content: Simplifying the sale of creative content.
Future Media: Establishing the West Midlands as a hub for content creation.
Games Sector: Innovating support for the local games industry.
Sustainability: Pioneering sustainable content creation in the region.
Joining the Executive Board means contributing strategic vision and oversight, challenging programs and strategies, and leveraging private-sector leadership to accelerate the growth of the West Midlands' creative content sector.
We particularly encourage applications from traditionally excluded talent*, aligning with our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. Shape the Future with us. Apply now to play a pivotal role in advancing the West Midlands' creative landscape.
We are appointing Executive Members through a public appointments process in a voluntary, non-executive capacity to provide strategic vision and oversight and to ask challenging questions about programmes and strategy.
For more detailed information, including anticipated time commitments, read the full role description.

* What we mean by ‘traditionally excluded talent’ - under-representation and under-represented groups in the UK relate to the protected characteristics as defined in the UK Equality Act 2010.
Additional areas include regional participation, socioeconomic background and caring responsibilities. This is not an exhaustive list.
Addressing under-representation also means being aware of intersectional experiences and the impact of multiple minoritised and marginalised identities.
